Standard 7: Washing Machine — Odor Prevention & Moisture Control

A premium protocol: seal care, correct cycles and habits for long-term freshness and performance.

Standard 7 covers washer odor prevention through moisture, residue and seal control. The goal is a clean appliance with no build-up or biofilm.

Monthly protocol

  1. Drawer: remove, wash, dry and reinstall correctly.
  2. Door seal: clean folds (hair/slime) and dry thoroughly.
  3. Filter/trap: check and clean per the model instructions.
  4. Maintenance cycle: run the manufacturer-recommended cleaning program (temperature and cleaner per manual).

Daily habits

  • Leave the door and drawer slightly open after use.
  • Avoid overdosing detergent and softener (residue feeds biofilm).
  • Do not leave wet laundry inside for long.

What we avoid

  • No mixing chemicals.
  • No relying on fragrances to “fix” odor.
  • No abrasive scrubbing on seals and plastics.

If odor persists, the root cause is often the seal, filter or detergent residue. Send an inquiry for diagnosis and a solution.
